About The Plumery
Our mission and primary responsibility is to care for
abandoned, neglected, and abused parrots placed in our care.
What We Do
The Plumery provides a full-service haven for all species of parrots, surrendered by pet owners. A place of safety and serenity, we offer permanent residency, short- or long-term boarding, rehabilitation, and adoption, depending on the needs and well-being of each parrot entrusted to us. We also reach out to communities and organizations often ignored and lacking access to unique educational enrichment opportunities. The Plumery sets the scene for a variety of partnerships among exotic avians, owners, at-risk populations, students, and experts. To all who experience The Plumery, we offer education and resources, fellowship and guidance without judgment.
Who We Are
We are a small, dedicated group of professional women and men serving together on a nonprofit board of directors and adjunct advisory panel. Many of us have worked or volunteered in the field of exotic avian care; others are dedicated bird and animal lovers. Among us, we have academic, institutional, philanthropic, financial, marketing/public relations, veterinary, service, and writing experience.
